The 36th Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF 2025) is Malaysia’s leading and largest machinery fair, grandly opened on July 10.

Labthink was glad to be at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, we showcased our latest innovations in packaging quality testing. This is the first public appearance since the establishment of Labthink Malaysia.

During this exhibition we met many of our old users and many new customers. In the field of packaging material testing, Labthink is already a true leader. We are enthusiastic about Labthink's future growth. With our advanced technologies, high testing expertise, and a collaborative, vibrant team, we believe Labthink will lead the way in permeation testers in the future.

Hazardous Gases Permeability Testing Solution

VAC-V2 is designed for permeability testing of flamma- ble, explosive, and toxic gases such as Hydrogen (H?), Sulfur Dioxide (SO?), meeting the demanding needs of scientific and industrial research. TüV-certified and trusted worldwide.

Summer vacation is coming, many labs will be closed, you won’t be using the permeability testers for a while. Before going on vacation, don't forget to check your testers. You’ll need to take extra precautions to make sure they’re well- maintained during the downtime.

Here’s more thorough approaches for long-term shutdown:

1. Clean the Equipment Thoroughly

  • Use Appropriate Solvents to clean the machine
  • Dry the Equipment:

2. Disconnect and Power Down

  • Turn Off Power: Disconnect any equipment from the power source.

3. Protect Sensitive Parts

  • Cover and Seal: If the equipment has sensors, circuits, or other delicate components, cover them with protective plastic or sealing tape to prevent dust, moisture, or contaminants from affecting them.
  • Cover and Seal: If the equipment has sensors, circuits, or other delicate components, cover them with protective plastic or sealing tape to prevent dust, moisture, or contaminants from affecting them.
  • Seal Test Cells: Ensure that all test cells are sealed with high barrier materials and fresh applied sealing grease. En- sure that all test cells or compartments are sealed tightly to avoid contamination or air exposure.

4. Store Equipment Properly

  • Climate Control: Store the testers in a temperature-controlled environment, if possible, to avoid extreme heat, cold, or humidity, which can degrade the equipment. If you don’t have a climate-controlled storage area, make sure it’s at least dry and cool.
  • Elevate Equipment: If you’re storing equipment on the floor, elevate it on pallets or tables to protect it from potential water damage (in case of leaks) or pests.

5. Log and Document Everything

  • Create a Shutdown Log: Record everything that’s been done during the shutdown process, including cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and any potential issues noted. This log will be helpful when you start up the equipment again.
  • Leave Instructions for Reopening: If someone will be restarting the lab in your absence, leave a detailed checklist or instructions on how to bring the equipment back online, including things like checking calibration, recharging batteries, and reassembling components.

6. Safety and Emergency Protocols

  • Check Emergency Shutoffs: Ensure that emergency shutoff valves or switches are in place, especially if the testers are used with high-pressure systems. Make sure that if anything were to go wrong while the lab is closed, safety measures are ready.
  • Seal Off Dangerous Areas:If your permeability testers use hazardous materials or high-pressure setups, ensure that these areas are secured and properly labeled for safety.

7. Prepare for Reopening

  • Pre-checks Before Reopening: Before starting the lab back up, run a few preliminary tests to confirm that every- thing is in working order, that calibration settings are still valid, and that the equipment is clean and ready for use.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the permeability testers are protected and preserved while the lab is closed, and that they’re ready to go once operations resume. This will help minimize any downtime or surprises 5. Log and Document Everythingwhen you return!
